Mission Statement

The mission of SouthernCare New Beacon Hospice is to honor life and offer compassion to individuals and their families when facing a life-limiting illness. We are dedicated to enhancing the care of all in the community and serve as a symbolic reminder that life is to be lived until you die. SouthernCare New Beacon Gadsden is an ACHC accredited hospice.

At SouthernCare New Beacon Hospice in Gadsden, we care for appoximately 125 patients a day in private homes, skilled nursing facilities and assisted living communities. Hospice volunteers provide valuable support to our staff through administrative work in the office and non-medical patient support in the home. Assisting with errands helps a tired family cope with their many challenges. Simply holding a patient’s hand can ease their mind and comfort their spirit. Volunteering takes no medical training or great commitment. The volunteer team is managed by the Volunteer Coordinator who will train you, assign activities, be your point of contact with any questions or concerns and provide ongoing education and support in your volunteer journey. Our volunteer team is comprised of many unique invdividuals from college students, stay at home moms, to retirees. The need for new volunteers is constant and the opportunities are endless!
