Mission Statement

Formed in 1997, the nonprofit and nonpartisan Sawtooth Society is the only organization dedicated exclusively to protecting, preserving and enhancing the Sawtooth National Recreation Area.

We do this by serving as an advocate for the Sawtooth NRA, preserving open space in the Sawtooth NRA, and providing grants and volunteer work to enhance recreation in the Sawtooth NRA.

Description

The Sawtooth Society sponsors the biggest volunteer program in the area entitled the Austin Kraal Memorial Volunteer program. In partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, volunteers spend 1 - 5 days completing important, on-the-ground projects in the incredibly beautiful Sawtooth National Recreation Area. Projects range greatly in duration, skills required, and age required. In other words, there is a project for nearly any type of group.
