AGBU is devoted to preserving and promoting the Armenian identity and heritage through educational, cultural, and humanitarian programs.
Description
Established in 1906, AGBU is the world's largest Armenian non-profit organization. Headquartered in New York City with an annual budget of $45 million, AGBU annually serves some 500,000 Armenians in 31 countries. With a focus on education, AGBU operates 17 Day Schools and 16 Saturday Schools; awards scholarship grants and loans to over 500 students worldwide; and supports the American University of Armenia and Yerevan State University among its many educational programs. Through its extensive global network of Districts, Chapters, Young Professional Groups, Centers, and Offices, the organization sponsors numerous worthwhile cultural and humanitarian programs, including Summer Camps, Athletics & Scouts, Internship & Mentoring Programs, and the Performing Arts.
