Friendship Circle Mission Statement

The Friendship Circle is a youth oriented volunteer program that matches children with special needs with teenage/young adults mentors. The alliance successfully addresses three objectives.

1. To meet the physical, social and emotional needs of each child in an enjoyable and meaningful manner. It strives to enhance life skills, widen the social horizon, and provide holiday awareness amongst the special needs community.

2. It seeks to raise consciousness, inclusiveness, and a sense of responsibility amongst young adults by encouraging and promoting big brother/sister volunteerism.

3. It offers the family a weekly respite, community support, and a host of social/holiday events.

Description

The Friendship Circle is a team of teen volunteers who give of their time, and their hearts to special needs children.

For children with special needs, the greatest void in their lives is often just having a friend: someone who cares for them, thinks about them, and makes them feel wanted and loved.

Here is how you can join our Volunteer Club and help perform miracles.

Our Friends at Home Program is a 90 Minute a week commitment in which volunteer visit a special needs child in their home and engage them in an activity, craft, or game to forge a special friendship.

The greatest reward for volunteer in the Friendship Circle is the impact you can have in the life of a needy child. In addition, we honor all of our volunteers at an year-end Annual Dinner. Friendship Circle volunteering can also be counted as community service for your school or synagogue.

Think Fun. Think Giving. Think Big. Think Future.
