Mission Statement

Linking the unemployed and veterns to their local library and helping them gain a new Career Vision.

Description

Inland Library System in partnership with Career Vision has a state library grant to implement 24 employment workshops in the next 8 months and we need marketing interns to help us. The workshops can be found at www.inlandlib.org . The intern will be supervised by Career Vision.

You can volunteer as little as 1 hour a week and will get assignments to complete each week to help us market the workshops in local communities where the workshops will be taking place.

Sample assignments may include promoting the workshops on facebook, twitter, radio stations, online calendars, etc., contacting theaters and electronic billboard companies about in-kind donations of advertising, taking fliers around the community to various places for display and distribution, writing press releases for local newspapers, attending veteran's events, employment fairs, community events to run an information booth, etc.

The internships can be done from home and while you are unpaid you can earn community service hours, a certificate of completion documenting your hours, and get a letter of recommendation (for 40+ hours).

This is a great resume building experience. Please email Jamie Beck at careervisionbyjamie@gmail.com
