The Button Farm Living History Center is a 40 acre facility promoting environmental and education awareness. It was founded under The Menare Foundation in 1999 under the Maryland State Department of Natural Resources. The History Center replicates 1850's plantation life depicting slavery and the underground railroad. On the farm land, there are heritage breed animals and crops representing sustainable agriculture as part of our dedication to Green Restoration in Maryland.
The Button Farm History Living Center is a white house set on a nice yards filled with grass and flowers as the crops set in the gardens and the animals we have such as geese, chickens and hogs remain on the farm.
