SAFE Haven Cat Shelter & Clinic’s mission is to ensure the well-being of every cat through adoption, affordable spay/neuter services, community outreach and adherence to No Kill Principles.
SAFE Haven Cat Shelter & Clinic believes:
Most people want to help animals and don’t want to see them suffer or be needlessly killed.
That we will always exist as a no-kill organization and strive to find homes for every adoptable, treatable and recoverable cat we take.
No animal will ever be adopted before sterilization.
Animals will be euthanized only in the case of illness or injury from which they cannot recover, and only by lethal injection.
We believe every animal and human at SAFE Haven is an individual being with a personality and feelings; with intrinsic worth and value. As such, they will be treated with respect and care in a non-judgmental, safe environment.
SAFE Haven does not discriminate against humans or animals.
We believe completely in sterilization, pediatric sterilization, community education and Trap/Neuter/Return as the key and proven methods to stop euthanasia as a means of population control for companion animals.
We believe in partnering and collaborating with any other organization that can benefit these animals and save lives.
SAFE Haven Cat Shelter & Clinic also known as SAFE Haven is a 501(c)(3) non-profit No Kill animal shelter dedicated to finding homes for homeless cats and kittens. Founded in 1994, SAFE Haven Cat Shelter & Clinic is Raleigh’s No Kill shelter and clinic.
Since opening SAFE Haven has orchestrated the adoptions of almost 7,000 cats and kittens and spayed or neutered over 17,000 in our clinic.
As a non-profit organization, SAFE Haven relies heavily on donations from the community to support its life-saving work and programs. In order to maximize the percentage of every dollar going directly to the care of the cats, we have only 8 full time paid staff members. All other work and love comes from over 80 volunteers.
