The ladies who run the food pantry packaging and distribution are so friendly and welcoming. I really enjoyed my time volunteering there and would do it again.

Right away when I first walked in the doors of the YWCA of Flushing, I was greeted with cheerful enthusiasm. The work site is clean, bright and they follow all current Covid safety measures. The staff are very skilled at keeping the work flow organized to make efficient use of your time as a volunteer. Ms. Joanne, who manages the pantry has a joyful spirit, her humor and tunes help to keep our energy up. They encourage you to take breaks and serve snacks & beverages. It feels so good to work with fellow volunteers - joining together for a common goal, and remembering that there are many good people out there. I love that in spite of our varied ages, backgrounds and ethnicities we work together to be part of the solution. Every week they restore my faith in humanity!

I had a great morning volunteering for the YWCA. This event was very well organized. It ended earlier then it was supposed to. They served coffee and donuts and water and at the end they served pizza. I am looking forward to the next event that they will have. Close to home was a plus.
