Mission Statement
The Village of Great Neck Plaza was incorporated in on May 3, 1930. The Plaza, centrally located within the the Great Neck Peninsula, and by virtue of it being a hub with the Long Island Railroad's Great Neck Station, contains unique, varied, upscale shops and restaurants found on our main street, "Middle Neck Road."
Great Neck Plaza encompasses a busy commercial district, three parks, as well as a residential section comprised of many multiple dwellings and private homes. Although geographically the Village measures only a third of a square mile, it boasts a vibrant downtown with a railroad station (Great Neck Branch of the Long Island Railroad), over 250 retail stores and service establishments, almost 90 multiple-family apartment buildings, 148 single family homes, approximately 40 office buildings, 2 four star hotels, a nursing home, a senior independent living facility and one assisted-care living facility.
Description
Help improve parking safety and compliance with handicapped parking laws.
The Handicapped Parking Violations Bureau, which will be manned by volunteers, will help to increase and improve the ability of handicapped and disabled persons to utilize the services stores and faciltieis within the Village by ensuring their access to designated spaces within the village.
