Mission Statement
The Spreckels Organ Society exists to preserve, program, and promote the Spreckels Organ as a world treasure for all people.
Description
This first-of-its-kind organ designed to play for an outdoor audience has been amazing music-lovers since December 31, 1914.
Concerts on the Spreckels Organ are free to the public in accordance with the original Deed of Gift by John and Adolph Spreckels. Concerts are held every Sunday at 2 p.m. for one hour (rain or shine).
The Spreckels Organ Society maintains strong relations with other organizations to promote music education in general and pipe organ music in particular. Together with the San Diego chapter of the American Guild of Organists, the Society sponsors an annual competition and scholarship awards. Outreach to the general community through a series of Family Festival Days also helps acquaint new audiences with the organ.
