U.S.Coast Guard Auxiliary looking for eager volunteers to join Long Beach/ Orange County group to help promote boating safety.
The Coast Guard Auxiliary is the civilian, non-military component of the Coast Guard team, created in 1939. The Auxiliary directly supports the Coast Guard in all of its missions except military and law enforcement actions. Over 34,000 volunteers, nation-wide, actively patrol our waterways and meet with the boating public at marinas and in classrooms. Auxiliarists also serve side-by-side with active duty members of the Coast Guard at their stations and in times of disaster. Members are eligible to receive training in many fields; such as public education, vessel safety checks, operations, and administrative support. Volunteers may also purchase and wear the Auxiliary uniform. Fun, fellowship, and service are trademarks of the Auxiliary.
