Mission Statement

We are a woodland based group who carry out practical conservation and traditional forestry tasks at King’s Meadow part of Longbeach Wood, Charing.

Our aim is to improve the environment for wildlife, nature conservation, and recreation whilst engendering a sense of community. We promote and share traditional forest enterprise, practical conservation and nature-based craft skills through a range of practical tasks and skill sharing events.

Description

Our organisation is an Unicorporated Association and has no income other than that donated by our members. In the coming months we aim to start fundraising for additional tools, insurance and other costs We hold weekly craft sessions and regular practical conservation tasks at our woodland near Ashford in Kent, England.

We have 15 core members who volunteer their time to help run the organisation and lead workshops and practical sessions.

We hope to expand our reach so that we can accomodate group visits from schools and other community groups to our woodland and are committed to training our volunteers to meet these challenges.

We are affiliated to The Conservation Volunteers, A UK wide network of voluntary groups working with communities to protect and enhance the natural environment.
