Mission Statement

The mission of the Law Center is to end homelessness in America. Substantively, the Law focuses on housing, income, social services and civil rights. In these areas, the Law Center pursues three main strategies: impact litigation, policy advocacy, and public education. To amplify the work of its small staff, the Law Center relies on interns, volunteers, and the pro bono assistance of the private bar.

Description

The National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty, established in 1989, presses for solutions to homelessness. The Law Center is committed to solutions that address the causes of homelessness, not just its symptoms, and places and addresses homelessness in the larger context of poverty. To this end, we employ three main strategies: litigation, legislation, and education of the public.
