Mission Statement

Philmont Public Library serves the library needs of the rural Village of Philmont (pop. 1632, 100 miles north of NYC). Its mission includes redefining the role of the library in a wired, rural community.

Description

Now 100 years old, the library is located in the Village Hall. It has a collection of over 15,000 books and 3 public access computers (Internet available). An additional computer is available for staff. It is a member of the Mid-Hudson Library System (consortium of 65 libraries in 5 counties).
