Mission Statement

Volunteers age 50+ teach older adults about computer use.

Help to bring computer and on line literacy to older adults - the people who missed out on the computer revolution often because they retired before computers were an integral part of the workplace!

SeniorNet Learning Centers are places where computer classes, specifically designed for older adults, are offered. They are places where a student who has never before used a computer can learn basic computer skills. Skills include how to turn the system on and off - how to use the mouse to drag and drop and point and click - how to write, edit, save and print a letter; how to use spreadsheets and database management; and how to access and use the Internet and other online services to send e-mail and to participate in other types of communication. SeniorNet currently offers these courses: Fundamental Skills and Introduction to Computers, Windows Management, Internet Exploration, Quicken, Word Processing,Spreadsheets and Databases. Brief workshops on a wide range of special or advanced topics are offered for "alumni".

I'm very knowledgable with computers, any org. That help people is a winner, because some elder people can't do for themselves, and are in need of help, one day I will be old and hope I find someone to help me. Or and org that will take me in when theirs no one else around to help. I'm not working and would like to help people. It's very rewarding helpings others. If we helped at least 1 -2 people a day then that was a successful day.
