Mission Statement

The American Cancer Society is the nation-wide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives from cancer and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and service.

Description

The American Cancer Society San Francisco Unit provides prevention education to youth and adults; patient services to cancer survivors and their families and friends; and participates in advocacy efforts to enact laws that help us reach our goals. Major program areas include: Breast Health, Colorectal Cancer, Nutrition and Physical Activity, Prostate Cancer and Tobacco Control.
