Mission Statement

Canine Therapy Corps provides goal-directed, interactive animal-assisted therapy programs to a wide variety of populations. Provided by a handler in a program, and developed with or by health care and human services professionals, AAT is designed to promote improvement in human physical, emotional and cognitive functions. Our organizational goals include: Enlarging our volunteer pool and donor base, permitting us to respond to the myriad of requests we receive for Canine Therapy Corps animal-assisted therapy programs; Continuing to provide animal-assisted therapy programs free of charge; Collecting and analyzing sufficient empirical data from ongoing programs to prove the successes of current programs and improve acceptance of animal-assisted therapy in the scientific community; and Develop standardized program models allowing Canine Therapy Corps to share our expertise with other organizations across the country and throughout the world.
