Mission Statement

Bethesda Lutheran Services' mission is to provide hope and healing to children and their families by providing free summer and after-school programs to youth ages 5-15 year old. Bethesda Trinity Center offers a safe place for children to learn, to establish new friendships, and to experience opportunities they may not have otherwise. Each child is given a hot meal before they return home.

Description

Bethesda Lutheran Services Trinity Center is one of the oldest community centers having originally been named the Holy Trinity Community Center. After-school programming was held at St. John's Lutheran Church, later moving its services into a little white house next door to the Holy Church, which was donated by the church. In 1996, Bethesda Children's Home merged with the Holy Trinity Community Center when funding was unavailable to continue the after-school program. This led to the creation of Bethesda Trinity Center, which is located on West 18th street in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Bethesda Trinity Center is funded by OCY (Office of Children and Youth), Erie County Drug and Alcohol Abuse, United Way, Erie Gives, and CDBG (Community Development Black Grant).

It is important to note that in July 2017, Bethesda Children's Home re-branded to successfully unite Bethesda Children's Home, Bethesda Leadership Center, and Bethesda Trinity Center through the name of Bethesda Lutheran Services.
