Thomas Hospital Auxiliary

Few community hospitals can match the longevity and scope of support that Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama has received from its volunteers - the Thomas Hospital Auxiliary. As a native of Fairhope and a former Administrator of the hospital, I can attest to the many programs, fundraisers and spirit of the group that has added to much to the "home-town" friendliness you feel from the first greeting you receive. High-school "Candy Stripers" were an early program of the Auxiliary, involving many Fairhope youth, many of whom went on to careers in health care. The Auxiliary Snack Shop was a staple at the original entrance, since totally renovated and serving now as a part of its first-class Emergency Department. Anyone with a sense of service would do well to consider volunteering at Thomas Hospital. The Hospital, the Public Library and the Eastern Shore Art Center make living in Fairhope a more complete and gratifying experience, beyond the fair weather and beautiful sunsets.
