Mission Statement

As a PTA, our main focus is to foster community for our students and families. We work with Sunnybrae's staff to support our classrooms by collaborating together and reaching out to the community.

Description

Sunnybrae Elementary is a K-5 public school in San Mateo, California. We are proud to be one of the few public schools offering the rigorous International Baccalaureate program. Sunnybrae is a Title 1 school and about 70% of our students come from socio-economic disadvantaged backgrounds and for the majority of our students, English is not their first language. Our staff works constantly to meet the challenges within our community.

We’d like to introduce you to all 500 of our families but we think that may take awhile so we’ll offer you the quick version.

Basically, we’re the best. We’ve just got the most diverse group of families from all sorts of cultures and backgrounds. Every child has their own story to share, their own thread to weave into the fabric of our community. We’re so proud to have the community we do. We’re made up of parents, neighbors, retired staff, aunts, friends, and alumni who donate time, money, and resources daily directly effecting our classrooms and school climate.
