Mission Statement

The L.E.A.D. Mentor Program was created to help develop, support and guide "at risk" youth at the Boys & Girls Club. We will focus on building both Self-Esteem and Self Confidence for the youth to become responsible respectful individuals in our communities. A lot of our youth may be lacking in these areas so it will be up the program to help them develop self-esteem and grow beyond that. Our mentors will be role models. Many of our youth just need a positive role model in their life and this is the opportunity that you have by being their mentor. We want to encourage our youth to Dream. Dreams are attainable but the first step is having a dream in the first place. We encourage our youth to Explore. We want our youth to explore different experiences to become a well-rounded individual. We want them to Aim high and realized their full potential and strive to reach their full potential. Finally, we want them to Learn. We want them to Learn how to be respectful, responsible positive youth that hold the key to the future. Our youth do matter and we have to make sure they know this and it is our job to help them realize this.
