House salvage and Donation Pick-Ups

We've got the trucks, trailers, tools, and heart for it. We just need some extra hands. We need help! Throughout the year, people have items to donate to ReStore, but no way to get it to us. That's where you can help. On assigned routes over the course of a day, make assigned pickups and drop it all off for resale. Or, if you want to be a bit more active and get your hands dirty, we do have demolitions and remodels where we go in and salvage usable household materials like doors, windows, flooring and trim to prevent them being dumped in a landfill. While not an everyday activity, these always need many hands to help out!

Is HGTV your favorite channel? Our Brainerd ReStore is a retail outlet that deals in recycling new and like-new building and home improvement materials sold at discounted prices. We prevent quality items from crowding the landfill and reuse, repurpose, and recycle appliances and furniture, too. Regular weekly volunteers are needed to provide support to the ReStore staff, donors, and customers. Whether you’re people person or you love seeing all the interesting things that come in, you’ll love the ReStore. There are tasks for every skill level and ability- sorting, organizing, fixing, customer service, lifting and moving, measuring, etc. The ReStore is open: Tuesday-Friday, 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. but volunteer help needed Mondays as well!

We have the family. We have the construction expert. We have the materials and the property. Now, we just need many hands to help do the work: to build walls, put in floors, add siding, paint, and more. Help a family finally find a stable home. We build safe, decent, affordable homes for local families. Without volunteers, our nonprofit wouldn't be able to do the AMAZING things we are able to do for families and neighborhoods in our Brainerd Lakes community. Be part of our fight against substandard housing!

We are a committed family at Lakes Area Habitat, and because of our unbeatable volunteers we have given 100 families in our community habitat homes! We also have a ReStore right in Brainerd and do salvages from homes scheduled for demolition and donation pickups in the four county area.
