Mission Statement

United55+ is a community-wide volunteer effort for people ages 55 and up who want to use their life experiences to benefit others. Projects put volunteers' skills and talents to good use while providing a social network of like-minded peers. Through a federal grant from AmeriCorps Seniors, United Way of Central Iowa is able to assist in mobilizing volunteers who are older than 55 to leverage their skills and experiences by finding solutions to community challenges, ultimately achieving results in Education, Income and Health.
