Description

Make a Difference in Your Community!

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers can choose an opportunity that allows them to volunteer as little or as much as they would like each month, serving through schools, adult day care centers, the tax program, health related educational programming and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.

RSVP ( over 55 volunteers) has MANY volunteer opportunities from helping serious exercise to help chronic pain, to tax preparation, to paying bills for for seniors who can no longer do this for themselves. I've been doing this for 6 years and would like to stress that before doing this, I was not aware how in need SO many frail elderly are and how many have no one they can trust to look out for them to help them pay bills which in turn helps them remain in their residence, keep on the heat and keep food in their home. Please keep your heart and minds open to helping this wonderful group. Note. Almost every county has an RSVP program, but each County has different opportunities and varying levels of volunteer support. Burlington County is very well run and dedicated to it's volunteers.
