Mission Statement

The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. The Marine Corps Toys For Tots program entered Bay County in 2003 under the direction of John Shepard, a United States Marine.

Description

Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity is the fund raising, funding and support organization for the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. The Foundation was created at the behest of the U. S. Marine Corps and provides support in accordance with a Memorandum of Understanding with the Commander, Marine Forces Reserve, who directs the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. The Foundation has supported Toys for Tots since 1991.

Since 2003, Toys For Tots raised thousands of toys for thousands of children and efficiently delivered the toys through several worthy agencies that you know well by name:

Salvation Army
Anchorage Childrens Home
Children's Home Society
Boys and Girls Clubs of Bay County

All toys and money raised in Bay County stay in Bay County, and even better, the Toys For Tots Foundation injects several thousand dollars and hundreds of toys annually into the community from outside of the community. As you can imagine, the presence of the Marines and Toys For Tots is a tremendous asset to our local community, so we hope that you support us with your thoughts, words, and actions.
