Senior volunteers earn extra income while helping at-risk children achieve their academic and personal goals.

The Foster Grandparent Program at J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center seeks to support senior adults as they serve the needs of at-risk children and youth at the Center and in schools and pre-schools through- out Burke and surrounding counties. The program provides many benefits in addition to the satisfaction of seeing the children succeed.

Benefits include a stipend(payment) to income-eligible volunteers, transportation reimbursement, a meal at the assigned site, orientation and training, and recognition activities.
