Two generations, hand in hand. You and a child.

The Foster Grandparents of Boone, Dallas, and Story Counties work together to achieve one common goal: to make a difference in the lives of the children of our county, one child at a time. We all come from different backgrounds and enjoy sharing our experiences with one another. We currently work with children over the age of 2. Some Foster Grandparents are working with Day Cares, Preschools, and Head Start Programs, focusing on getting children ready for Kindergarten, meal manners, and helping children to get along with other children. Other Foster Grandparents are working with elementary age children on basic academic skills. We all enjoy getting together once a month to share out stories, experiences, and learn from each other. Foster Grandparents that meet minimum income guidelines receive a modest stipend for their time.
