Mission Statement

MathPower and WordPower are community-based educational programs that create individual lesson plans which strive to provide basic math and literacy assistance to traditionally under-resourced students. We create foundations in learning through one-on-one pairings of students and tutors. Our goal is to engage students in a fun way so that they might reach benchmarks standards and beyond.

Description

Math Power and Word Power are programs that provide one-on-one student attention and tutoring to those students that need extra assistance and practice in math and/or reading. The program strives to have students reach and continue to stay at their grade levels by creating individualized learning plans for each student. The structure also encourages building a stronger foundation in basic math and reading skills in order to better prepare them for middle school, high school and beyond.
