Thousands of international seafarers arrive in our State every year. Our volunteers offer friendship, a warm smile and assistance to mariners far from home and families. Most of the seafarers we greet work a nine month contract, and find the "home away from home" at the Seamen's Center a much needed break from life at sea and the isolation of a ship. SCW volunteers do many things - greet seafarers in the building, drive a center van, building maintenance, gardening, bulk mailings, shopping, prepare packages for our Christmas at Sea program, knit hats and scarves,etc. Bring your talents, smiles and ideas and be a part of our friendly "crew".
