Mission Statement

The National Park Service preserves unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the national park system for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations. The Park Service cooperates with partners to extend the benefits of natural and cultural resource conservation and outdoor recreation throughout this country and the world.

Description

Nestled among the rolling hills and pastures of eastern-central Vermont, the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park is the only national park to tell the story of conservation history and the evolving nature of land stewardship in America.

We work with the community and partners to make this park everyone's park, and to connect people to a sense of place that recognizes the value of our natural and cultural heritage. The park seeks to put the idea of conservation stewardship into a modern context, interpreting the ways in which we can connect with nature and balance natural resource conservation with the needs of our twenty-first century world.

The park embraces a unique intersection of nature, the arts, citizen science, recreation, resource management, and a connection to Vermont's rural heritage.
