Description
Help, visit, and befriend elderly seniors!
Through the Senior Companion Program, people age 60 and older provide assistance and friendship to elderly/frail adults. Senior Companions serve elderly adults and their caregivers, adults with disabilities, and those with terminal illnesses. Senior Companions usually serve five to six clients on a weekly basis, serving 20 hours a week. Senior Companion volunteers receive these helpful benefits: 1.) A modest, monthly, tax-free stipend of $2.65 per hour of service, to help offset the cost of volunteering 2.) A monthly reimbursement for your mileage costs and meals 3.) An annual physical check-up 4.) Accident and liability insurance while on duty 5.) Pre-service and monthly training sessions.Senior Companion volunteers must be 60 years of age or older and meet income eligibility requirements.
