iosco county coats for kids

Description

Established in 1995 by social workers and concerned citizens, Iosco Coats for Kids has been growing each year as the economy has worsened. Staffed 100% by dedicated unpaid volunteers, much of our effort is directed to raising enough funds to buy the coats needed. This last winter we gave away 1100 children's winter coats plus several hundred recycled adult coats to needy families. Most of the coats are purchased, although some are donated in collection boxes placed around the county.

When available, we also distribute shoes and boots to local schools and shelters.
