SENIORS HELPING SENIORS WITH CARE AND COMPASSION

Senior Companion Program volunteers provide assistance and friendship to lonely or homebound adults. They may also provide respite for family caregivers of these adults. Senior Companions visit each of their clients once a week for about four hours, serving a total of 20 hours per week. If you are interested in becoming a Senior Companion Program volunteer, you must be at least 60 years of age and meet income eligibility requirements. You receive a modest, tax-free stipend for your volunteer time, reimbursement for transportation, some meals during service, an annual physical, and accident and liability insurance while on duty. Pre-Service and monthly training is also provided.
