The SCP of NH is a volunteer service, which matches active seniors with frail elders living in the community in order to promote independence. Regular weekly visits go beyond merely checking on the elder. Trusting friendships are established, and both volunteers and those visited benefit from lasting relationships. This unique program brings together the best of our community's resources. The time, talent and compassion of the volunteers provide a vital link with valuable community resources. Volunteers earn a tax-free hourly stipend, travel reimbursement, educational programming, and meal allowances. This is your opportunity to "give back" to your community. As one volunteer put it, "I have learned so much from this program. How to grow gracefully. To live despite hardship. How not to give up. How to have hope."
