READ ALOUD DELAWARE

Share the joy of reading with preschool-age children! Read one-on-one to children in daycare centers and preschools for one or two hours a week. Training and books are provided.

Many children don't have one-on-one reading time with an adult, something that is needed for pre-reading skills and brain development. READ ALOUD Delaware's mission is to make sure each preschool child is regularly read to one-on-one. We focus on three areas: parent education program, caregiver education program and volunteer reading program.

We need volunteers to read one-on-one to children in preschools and daycare centers for at least one hour a week. Training is provided. Volunteers must submit an application with 2 references and have a background check. There is no cost to the volunteer.

We also need volunteers for special events and office/clerical work.
