Mission Statement

Hancock County Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people from all walks of life to develop communities with people in need -- building decent, affordable homes in which every person can experience God’s love and can live and grow into all God intends. Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all.

Note: Hancock County Habitat for Humanity has an open-door policy. All who believe that everyone needs a decent, affordable place to live are welcome to help with the work and apply for housing regardless of race, color, religion, age, handicap, gender, orientation, political
views or any of the other distinctions that too often divide people. We are pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation.
