Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.

Our mission is to increase educational opportunities for children in rural Lesotho through access to advanced technologies.
Laptops to Lesotho
distributes laptops to children in rural Lesotho,
trains the children and their teachers in the laptops’ use,
develops customized classroom lessons for core subjects,
provides school servers with "internet in a box,"
teaches the children critical-thinking and problem-solving skills using the laptops,
develops a community-based organization to provide local support and funding, and
deploys solar electricity to power the laptops for sites off the electrical grid.
Primary school children in remote mountain villages in Lesotho, Africa, attend poor schools with few resources, unskilled teachers, and overcrowded classrooms. Laptops provide engaging personalized learning opportunities that improve their education, teach them to love learning, and increase their chances at a fuller, healthier life. Without laptops, they are destined for a hard life of subsistence living, with a high risk of contracting HIV/AIDS and drug-resistant tuberculosis.
