Mission Statement

The mission and goal of the foundation is community service through the restoration and upkeep of The Reid House and surrounding property as well as bringing Matthews history to life.

Description

Help maintain and enhance the historic 1890 Reid House gardens and landscaped areas, the site of outdoor events and numerous weddings. Volunteer opportunities include care of flower beds and shrubbery, pruning, planting, mulching and weeding. The Reid House gardens are an oasis in the middle of downtown Matthews. Help us keep the flower beds in bloom.

Looking for a volunteer program that can be fun? Join the Matthews Reid House gardeners to maintain and enhance the flower beds. There is nothing quite as rewarding as working in the garden, providing joy visitors.
