To help create a more peaceful world, our mission to help schools to be safer places, free from bullying and harassment, and to help students learn positive relational skills like empathy, cooperation and how to resolve conflicts peacefully.
PeaceMaker Minnesota’s strategy to stop bullying and to help youth learn positive relational skills is to 1) help schools use the best practices in youth violence prevention, 2) develop sustainable funding to strengthen their work, and 3) celebrate results so that more schools are inspired to make improvements.
PeaceMaker Minnesota is a network of K - 12 schools, public, private and charter, dedicated to providing a safe learning environment and to teaching social emotional skills. The organization was founded in 1998 and has provided more than $780,000 in funding for schools.
Our goal is to reduce the number of children who report that they are frequently bullied, 2 - 3 times a month or more, by 100 children by 2017. Student surveys from our network of schools indicate that 27 fewer students reported being frequently bullied last year.
Your support is needed to keep making progress. Less bullying means kids are respected for who they are -- individuals to be valued and loved. Safer schools means better schools and a brighter future for everyone. Kids learning empathy, cooperation and how to resolve conflicts peacefully means a less violent home, community and world.
