The mission of Global Gardens is to empower students in low-income communities to become agents of change through inquiry- based science and peace education.
Global Gardens serves 1,300 students at four sites in Tulsa. With more than 72 hours of instruction, both during and after school, Global Gardens is teaching high-risk students how to set goals, think critically and engage in peaceful conflict resolution. Additionally our students are learning tangible, life long skills, through the process of putting their hands in the dirt, and learning how to grow their own food in an organic and sustainable way. Global Gardens is a positive alternative to the gang culture and welfare state that permeates the communities where we work.
