Volunteer opportunities in Hurricane Katrina response, including home gutting, repair and rebuilding.Meaningful service opportunities in New Orleans. Terrific volunteer accomodations - $5 per day
Through its "Restoring Hope" project, Nazarene Disaster Response (NDR) has been responding to Hurricane Katrina since the day it hit. Over the past year, NDR has mobilized several thousand volunteers in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama with the support of the Corporation for National and Community Service.
NDR is still looking for willing volunteers of all ages and skills to assist with rebuilding and is especially looking to mobilize "Baby Boomers" and skilled labor. Partnering with the Salvation Army, NDR has high quality volunteer housing in the heart of New Orleans for the minimal cost of $5 per volunteer per day (includes insurance). Ongoing volunteer activities will focus on rebuilding in New Orleans through August 2007.
