Description

Help turn hope into homes. Share your talents, meet new people, change the world one home at a time. Opportunities available Monday thru Saturdays. Call ahead to schedule.

Milwaukee Habitat seeks to rebuild neighborhoods in our central city by rehabilitating and building homes with families and other volunteers. The opportunity of home ownership for low-income families is possible with the no-profit/no-interest mortgage loan provided by Habitat to qualified families. Habitat also provides the opportunity for volunteers, often from out urban areas, to give back to the community by working with the prospective homeowner in creating revitalized neighborhoods.

Having to invest 500 hours of "sweat equity" in the building of their house or other Habitat houses, families take ownership and pride in their homes and neighborhood. We consider our program a "hand up" not a handout.
