CAP works in concert with individuals, communities, municipalities, cities, provinces, townships, local government, schools, public safety agencies, coroner, hospitals, first responder type emergency professionals and ambulance services.Emergency personnel deal with trauma and crisis on a daily basis. Frequently and unfortunately, emergency and public safety personnel do not always have the additional resources, staff, time, opportunity and in some instances, specialized training, to attend to the emotional needs of the injured, (primary victim) or to co-victims such as family members, witnesses and bystnaders who might be experiencing an "acute crisis reaction" due to a critical incident.
