Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Crisis Assistance Program, Inc, (CAP) is committed to providing 24 hours a day free, comprehensive "on-site" emotional first-aid, assistance, comfort and support within the first few critical hours and days to any person, agency or community experiencing or having recently experienced a crisis, trauma or critical incident.
CAP works in concert with individuals, communities, municipalities, cities, provinces, townships, local government, schools, public safety agencies, coroner, hospitals, first responder type emergency professionals and ambulance services.Emergency personnel deal with trauma and crisis on a daily basis. Frequently and unfortunately, emergency and public safety personnel do not always have the additional resources, staff, time, opportunity and in some instances, specialized training, to attend to the emotional needs of the injured, (primary victim) or to co-victims such as family members, witnesses and bystnaders who might be experiencing an "acute crisis reaction" due to a critical incident.
