Description

We are looking for adults who would like to help a young person who needs a caring role model in their life. The commitment is for one hour per week, for one year, meeting at a local community center.

Our goal, by providing a mentor to a child, is to help them do better in school, make the right choices for their future, build their self-esteem and encourage them to connect with their community.
By meeting at a community center we can provide a safe, and supervised environment, with an endless variety of activities available; board games, cards, gymnasium, homework room, theatre stage, arts and crafts and more. The children are bussed to the center, so our voluneers are not responsible for transporting their child.
Children with mentors are proven to smile more, less likely to skip school and feel more hopeful about their future. We encourage individuals of all races, religions, income levels and gender to volunteer to become mentors
