Mission Statement
The Museum’s mission is to celebrate the impact of motorsports on American culture. The Museum collects, preserves, exhibits and interprets the vehicles, stories and artifacts that represent America’s affection for, and the influence of, automotive speed and style in all its forms.
Description
The Museum is the steward of the history of the National Hot Rod Association. Its purpose is to collect, preserve and interpret the history of the NHRA and of drag racing; obtain items of lasting interest or value relating to the sport of drag racing and the American hot rod culture; care for and display these items in an institution owned or controlled by the Museum and open to the general public; and, to sponsor and carry on activities that foster a better understanding of the history, people and development of the sport of drag racing and the American hot rod culture and the people and industry associated with the sport and the culture.
