Description

York Village Association is a newer organization established in 2010 by individuals interested in promoting, preserving, and enhancing the historic charm of York Village.

Located in the center of town, York Village consists of a cluster of historical buildings and upscale boutiques visited by tourists and residents alike. Every fall, York Village Association hosts it's Marketfest on the Village Green. Marketfest is a 2-day festival featuring live music, historic reenactments, artisan demonstrations and other special events. Food vendors particiapte in selling their hearty fare and festival favorites. Artisans of all kinds have their art and wares available.

Volunteers of York Village Association work to promote York Village and Marketfest. Because we're a young organization, we welcome thoughts on improving Marketfest as well as new ideas on additional events to bring people together in York Village.

I serve 2 roles with York Village Association; President and Marketfest Committee Member. As the current President of the organization, I have numerous opportunities to lead, mentor, and serve in my community of York. Because we're a young organization, feedback and new ideas are welcomed. I can make contributions that affect real change in this organization...I love that! Being on the Marketfest Committee is so much fun! We work all year to make this fall festival come to life for 2 days...it's amazing when it all comes together. There are so many things one can do to serve; you can volunteer on festival day or you can take a Committee role and head Entertainment, Craft Vendors, Sponsorships, etc...The possibilities are endless and everyone is willing to help out and show you the ropes.
