Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice

Description

We are seeking Volunteers to sit with Hospice patients or families as the patient goes through the dying process. We also have Pharmacy Delivery from time to time.

Our Volunteers usually just provide a presence for the Patient and/or the family during this difficult time. Volunteers may read to Patients who can no longer read, play recorded music, give hand massages, Listen or simply "be present". Volunteers may provide the caregiver a break, and/or play games with the patient, reminisce with the Patient, provide meals and/or provide office support from time to time.
Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Mission statement is: "To enable people to live WITH DIGNITY AND HOPE while coping with loss and terminal illness."
Our Volunteers play a big part in helping us to meet this mission. All of our Volunteers receive training before they are assigned to any duty.
