The process prior to the volunteer day was very organized and it made me feel like it would be a great event. I was even asked to select between some tasks for the day of the event, and I was available for all of them. However the day of the event, we were not given any instructions or an actual task that made us feel we were really offering our help. When I arrived and asked where to go, they said I could just wait on the side there were no clear indications of what had to be done. Everyone was very kind but it was not organized at all. The majority of the time there were a big number of people doing the exact same thing, so in short, it felt like our help was not really needed.

The MDA is a well-oiled machine with an amazing purpose. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting employees, other volunteers, and supporters of the organization. The Night of Hope Gala was purpose-driven and extremely organized. I had a great time working with other like-minded people to support such an important cause. I would highly recommend volunteering there.
