A 320 acre refuge for over 220 Lions, Tigers, Bears, Wolves and other large carnivores that have been rescued from illegal or abusuve situations.
The Wild Animal Sanctuary - also known as Rocky Mountain Wildlife Conservation Center - is a state and federally licensed wildlife sanctuary. We have been rescuing exotic and endangered wildlife for over 30 years, and currently care for more than 220 lions, tigers, leopards, mountain lions, jaguars, lynx, bobcats, grizzly bears, black bears and wolves. Animals come to the Sanctuary after being confiscated from illegal and abusive situations by law enforcement agencies - and are usually taken from private people trying to keep them as pets. The Sanctuary not only rescues and cares for wildlife, but specializes in rehabilitating and providing large acreage natural habitats for the animals to live in. The Sanctuary is open to the public daily, and provides educational tours to people interested in learning more about the Captive Wildlife Crisis in America today.
