Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to protect the rights and welfare of human research participants.

Description

The IRB is charged with the responsibility of reviewing all research projects that involve humans at the University of Utah, VA hospital, and Primary Children's Hospital to ensure they comply with local, state, and federal laws, as well as the high ethical standards set by University policy.

The IRB prides itself on serving the University's research community by applying the highest standards of intellectual integrity and careful attention to federal research regulations. We continually strive to provide investigators and study teams the support and resources they need to conduct high quality research and foster excellent research practices that protect participants.
